High Point Hires Cozart
High Point has named Craig Cozart head coach.
A former associate head coach at UCF, Cozart was interim head
coach for the Knights for the final 12 games of the 2008
campaign. He led UCF to an upset victory over No. 27 Tulane. The
Knights compiled a record of 455-274 during his 12 years
coaching at UCF, including five NCAA Tournament appearances and
four conference championships.
Cozart was a player at UCF from 1993-96. During that time, the
Knights made three NCAA Tournament appearances and won three
conference titles. Cozart was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in
the 45th round of the 1995 draft and in the 28th round by the
San Francisco Giants in 1996. He chose to finish his education
and begin coaching at UCF.
Cozart, 34, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from
UCF in December of 1996. He and his wife, Michelle, have three
sons: Caleb (7), Jacob (5) and Samuel (1).
