Cohen
named head coach at Mississippi
State
Former Kentucky skipper John Cohen was introduced
Saturday afternoon as head coach at Mississippi State.
A native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Cohen played for
the Bulldogs from 1987-90 and helped MSU reach the College World
Series in 1990.
Cohen, 41, compiled a mark of 175-113-1 (.607) in
five years at Kentucky, including a pair of school-record 44-win
seasons. He posted a 146-84 (.635) record in four years at
Northwestern State, including a pair of Southland Conference
titles in 1998 and 2001.
Cohen replaces his former head coach, Ron Polk,
who retired at the conclusion of the season.
