2013 Coaching Changes

Reid Named Interim Head Coach at Army

Army head coach Joe Sottolano has been relieved of his duties at West Point.

“We have decided to make a change in the leadership of our baseball program, effective immediately,” said Boo Corrigan, Army Director of Athletics, in a school release. “Due to behavior that does not meet the standards of what we demand of our senior leaders and role models at West Point, we have relieved Joe Sottolano of his duties as head baseball coach.”

Associate head coach Matt Reid has been promoted to interim head coach through the 2014 season. Over the past five seasons, Reid has worked with the infielders and hitters at Army.

A 2002 graduate of Richmond, Reid coached at VCU, Old Dominion and UNC Asheville prior to his arrival in West Point.

Corrigan said a national search for Sottolano’s replacement would start in the spring.
