LSU remains unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

Louisville sits in second, UCLA rises to third, TCU up to fourth, Illinois is fifth

 

After going 3-0 this past week, LSU stays in the top spot in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

CBI uses five national rankings in its composite poll: Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, D1baseball.com, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and USA Today Coaches Poll.

 

LSU is No. 1 for the fourth consecutive week. The Tigers swept a three-game SEC series from Missouri. LSU is first in all five polls.

 

Louisville went 4-1 and held onto second. The Cardinals won at Clemson and at Kentucky before taking two of three from Florida State. Louisville was second in three polls and third in the other two.

 

UCLA went 3-1 and rose to third. The Bruins went 3-1, beating Pepperdine before taking two of three at No. 11 Arizona State. UCLA was second in one poll, third in one poll and fourth in the other three.

 

TCU had a 2-0 week and jumped one place to fourth. The Horned Frogs took two from Kansas before the final contest was canceled. TCU was third in two polls, fourth in one poll and fifth in the other two.

 

Illinois went 3-0 and rose one spot to fifth. The Illini swept a three-game Big Ten set from Rutgers, extending their win streak to 24 games. Illinois is second in one poll, fourth in one poll and fifth in the other three.

 

Oregon State entered the poll at No. 20, while Florida Atlantic fell out. No. 11 Dallas Baptist rose four places, while No. 17 Arizona State fell six spots.

 

The CBI Composite Poll contains four teams from the Pac-12 and SEC. There are three from the ACC, two from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Missouri Valley, and one from the Big West, Colonial and Conference USA.
