Virginia remains No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

Top 5 stay the same: No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 TCU, No. 5 LSU

 

After putting together a 3-0 week to improve to 10-0, Virginia maintains the top spot in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

CBI uses five national rankings in its composite poll: Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, D1baseball.com, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and USA Today Coaches Poll.

 

The Cavaliers posted victories over Hartford, Seton Hall and Cornell. Virginia was first in two polls, second in one poll and third in the other two.

 

Vanderbilt went 5-0 to keep a hold on second. The Commodores defeated UT Martin and Western Kentucky before sweeping a three-game series from Illinois State. Vanderbilt was first in two polls, fourth in two polls and fifth in the other.

 

Florida had a 4-0 week and remained in third. The Gators topped Florida Atlantic and took three from Stony Brook. UF was second in two polls, third in one poll, fourth in one poll and fifth in the other.

 

TCU went 1-0 and stayed in fourth. The Horned Frogs beat Texas Southern and had their series with Cal Poly cancelled. TCU was first in one poll, second in one poll, third in one poll, sixth in one poll and seventh in the other.

 

LSU put together a 4-0 week and remained in fifth. The Tigers topped Southeastern Louisiana before taking three from Princeton. LSU was second in one poll, third in one poll, fourth in one poll, fifth in one poll and seventh in the other.

 

Texas A&M moved into the poll at No. 14, while Louisville dropped out. No. 12 UCF climbed eight places and No. 8 Mississippi State rose seven spots. Texas fell six spots to No. 15.

 

The CBI Composite Poll contains six teams from the SEC. There are four from the Big 12, three from the ACC and the Pac-12, two from Conference USA, and one from the American and Big Ten.
