Commodores are No. 1 in CBI Preseason Composite
Poll
Virginia sits in second, TCU is third, LSU stands fourth,
Florida is fifth
After
winning its first national championship in 2014, Vanderbilt is the unanimous
pick for No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Preseason Composite
Poll.
CBI uses five national rankings in its
composite poll: Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball,
D1baseball.com, National
Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and USA Today
Coaches Poll.
Virginia was national runner-up a season ago and holds down the
second spot. The Cavaliers with second in two polls, third in two polls and
fourth in the other.
TCU reached Omaha in 2014 and comes in third. The Horned Frogs
are second in one poll, third in two polls, seventh in one poll and eighth in
the other.
LSU lost in the finals of the 2014 Baton Rouge Regional and
placed fourth. The Tigers are second in one poll, fourth in three polls and
ninth in the other.
Florida went 0-2 in the 2014 Gainesville Regional and sits in
fifth. The Gators are second in one poll, fifth in two polls and sixth in the
other two polls.
The CBI Preseason Composite Poll contains five teams from the ACC. There
are four from the Big 12 and SEC, three from the Pac-12, two from Conference
USA, and single entries
from the Big Ten and Big West.
