a 5-0 week, North Carolina again becomes the unanimous No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com
Composite Poll.
The Tar Heels won at Elon on Tuesday and defeated Liberty at
home on Wednesday before sweeping a three-game ACC set at Virginia Tech. UNC is first in
all five polls.
LSU had a 4-1 week to hold onto second. The Tigers
defeated Southern twice prior to winning their SEC series at eighth-ranked
Arkansas. LSU is second in four polls and third in the
other.
Vanderbilt went 4-0 to stay in third. The
Commodores topped UT Martin at home on Tuesday before sweeping a three-game
home SEC series with Missouri to extend its win streak to 14. Vanderbilt is second in one poll and third in the other four polls.
Cal State Fullerton had a 3-1 week to remain in fourth. The Titans
won at home against USC on Tuesday before taking two of three from UC Santa
Barbara in Big West play. Cal State Fullerton is fourth in all five
polls.
Oregon State put together a 3-1 week and rose one spot to fifth. The Beavers
rebounded from a non-conference loss to Oregon on Tuesday to sweep a
three-game Pac-12 series from Utah. OSU is fifth in four polls and sixth in
the other.
Oregon and UCLA both moved up four places, the Ducks to eighth
and the Bruins to No. 11. South Carolina fell eight spots to No. 17.
Mississippi State (No. 13) and Ole Miss (No. 19) both return to the poll, with
Clemson debuting at No. 20. Indiana, Rice and Notre Dame all
dropped from the rankings.
The CBI Composite Poll contains seven teams from the SEC and
six from the ACC. There
are four from the Pac-12 and single entries
from the Big East, Big West and Big 12.
