Florida State is unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

Baylor stays second, South Carolina remains third, LSU still fourth

 

After a 3-0 week, Florida State became the unanimous No. 1 in the most recent CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Seminoles won at Jacksonville on Wednesday before defeating Maryland in the first two games of their ACC series. Florida State is first in all four polls.

 

Baylor remained at No. 2 after being idle this past week due to final exams. The Bears are second in all four polls.

 

South Carolina stayed third after a 3-1 week. The Gamecocks edged Davidson on Wednesday before taking two of three at Arkansas in SEC action. South Carolina is third in three polls and fourth in the other.

 

LSU went 3-1 and held on to No. 4. The Tigers topped Tulane on Tuesday before winning two of three SEC contests at Ole Miss. LSU is third in one poll and fourth in the other three.

 

Florida had a 2-1 week to bump up one spot to fifth. The Gators took two of three at Kentucky. Florida is fifth in three polls and sixth in the other.

 

UCLA and Cal State Fullerton both climbed three spots, with the Bruins at No. 11 and the Titans at No. 12.

 

Oregon State enters the poll at No. 20, while Louisville drops out of the poll.

 

This week's poll includes five teams from both the Pac-12 and SEC. There are three from the ACC, two from the Big 12 and Conference USA and single entries from the Big Ten, Big West and West Coast Conference.

* The American Baseball Coaches Association has ruled Arizona State ineligible for votes this season because of the school's NCAA postseason ban.
