Florida remains unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

Top 5 stay same: Florida, Stanford, Arkansas, Florida State, North Carolina

 

After going 3-1 this past week, including a SEC series win at South Carolina, Florida remains a unanimous No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Gators defeated Samford on Tuesday before taking two of three at South Carolina. Florida is first in all four polls.

 

Stanford returned from exams and picked up a pair of wins to remain in second. The Cardinal got rained out on Saturday, but opened Pac-12 play by sweeping a doubleheader with USC. Stanford is second in three polls and third in the other.

 

Arkansas went 3-1 to stay at No. 3. The Razorbacks beat Nevada at home on Wednesday before winning two of three SEC contests at Mississippi State. Arkansas is third in three polls and fourth in the other.

 

Florida State went 4-1 to hold onto fourth. The Seminoles took a pair of midweek contests from Stetson before taking two of three ACC games at Wake Forest. Florida State is fourth in three polls and fifth in the other.

 

North Carolina had a 2-1 week to remain at No. 5. The Tar Heels defeated Princeton on Tuesday before splitting a pair of ACC contests with NC State. UNC is fifth in three polls and sixth in the other.

 

Texas A&M rose five spots from No. 11 to No. 6 after sweeping a three-game set at Pepperdine.

 

Georgia Tech and Georgia both fell out of the poll, while UCF returned at No. 15 and Louisville made it back in at No. 18.

 

This week's poll includes six SEC teams and five from the Pac-12. There are four from the ACC, two from Conference USA and single entries from the Big 12, Big East and Big West.

* The American Baseball Coaches Association has ruled Arizona State ineligible for votes this season because of the school's NCAA postseason ban.
