Texas retains top spot in CBI Composite Poll
Virginia is second, Arizona State sits third, Coastal Carolina
is fourth
The
Texas Longhorns used another 4-0 week to extend their win streak to 20 and
stayed No. 1 in the latest CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.
Texas is first in the Collegiate
Baseball, NCBWA and USA Today/ESPN polls and second in the
Baseball America poll. The Longhorns beat UTSA on Tuesday before
sweeping a three-game Big 12 series at Baylor. Texas has won 17 straight
conference games, a Big 12 record.
Virginia is first the the Baseball
America poll, second in the NCBWA poll and third in the other two polls. The Cavaliers defeated Coastal
Carolina and Georgetown before sweeping a three-game ACC set at Duke.
Arizona State is second in two polls and third in the
other two. The Sun Devils took two from San Francisco before sweeping a key Pac-10
series at UCLA.
Coastal Carolina bounced back from its
loss at Virginia to take three from Big South opponent UNC Asheville.
Florida jumped up from 10th to No. 5. The Gators
swept a three-game SEC set from LSU.
TCU rose from No. 11 to No. 8, while
Miami (Fla.) jumped from No. 14 to No. 11.
UCLA dropped from sixth to No. 13. LSU
fell from No. 13 to No. 20.
Oregon and Virginia Tech entered
this week's poll, while Arizona and Stanford dropped out.
