Arizona State is unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite
Poll
Georgia Tech rises to second, UCLA jumps to third, LSU
still fourth
By sitting
on top of all four national polls, the Arizona State Sun Devils are No. 1 in the latest CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.
Arizona State, under head coach Tim Esmay (left), is first in the Baseball
America, Collegiate Baseball,
NCBWA and USA Today/ESPN polls. The Sun Devils took two of three in a Pac-10
series at Oregon to improve to 25-1.
Georgia Tech is second in three polls
and third in the other. The Yellow Jackets went 4-1 this past week, winning at
Georgia State and losing at Kennesaw State before sweeping a three-game ACC
set from Duke.
UCLA rose two stops to No. 3. The Bruins
defeated Pepperdine prior to winning two of three from Stanford.
LSU stayed in fourth. The Tigers bounced
Binghamton before taking two of three from Georgia.
Virginia fell three places to No. 5. The
Cavaliers topped Towson twice before dropping two of three at NC State.
Miami (Fla.) and South Carolina both
climbed three places,
while Oklahoma and Ole Miss both fell seven spots.
UC Irvine returned to the poll at No.
19, while Arizona fell out.
