Miami remains unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll
North Carolina climbs to No. 2; Florida State drops one spot
to No. 3
By sitting on top of all four national
polls, Miami
(Fla.) remains No. 1
in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll for the fourth consecutive week.
The Hurricanes went 3-1 this
past week to raise their record to 36-5. Miami lost at home to Florida
International 6-3 before sweeping a three-game home ACC series with No. 20
Virginia. The Hurricanes won 1-0 on Friday and 4-3 in 10 innings on Saturday
before a 10-0 blowout on Sunday.
North Carolina (38-8) is the consensus
No. 2 after it posted a 4-1 week, including taking two of three ACC contests
from No. 3 Florida State (35-7). Arizona State (35-7) also went 4-1 to stay at
No. 4. The Sun Devils split two games with No. 18 Cal State Fullerton before
sweeping a three-game Pac-10 series from No. 13 California. Rice (34-11)
defeated Sam Houston State and won two of three Conference USA contests at UCF
to remain at No. 5.
San Diego (35-11) extended its win
streak to 16 and rose four places to No. 8. Oklahoma State (32-11) enjoyed a
5-0 week and rose seven spots to No. 9.
