1 Ole Miss
2 Illinois
3 Clemson
4 Jacksonville State
Ole Miss and its power blue uniforms got hot at the right time to sneak in to host a Regional. The Rebels boast a dangerous offense that likes to run and has pockets of pop. Ryan Olenek (.346/1/30) and the combo of Cole Zabowski and Thomas Dillard – each hit .305 with 10 homers – are ones to watch. Illinois features a couple of big arms in starter Andy Fisher (7-1, 2.57, 89 K in 94.1 IP) and closer Garrett Acton (2-3, 19 SV, 2.23) to complement a steady offense that puts the ball in play. Clemson has power and also likes to run; the Tigers expect big things from Grayson Byrd (.315/15/56) and Logan Davidson (.296/15/55). Jacksonville State has wins over Georgia and Auburn this season and will make teams sweat when Garrett Farmer (5-1, 2.24, 104 K in 101.1 IP) is on the mound.
Sean – This could be a fun Regional with a lot of close games. Ole Miss should move on.
Phil: The Orange of Illinois and Clemson prove pesky, but Grae Kessinger, Tyler Keenan and Ole Miss beat the pair plus Jacksonville State to move on.
