1 LSU
2 Arizona State
3 Southern Miss
4 Stony Brook
LSU and Stony Brook in the same Regional… fun stuff after the Seawolves reached Omaha in 2012 by winning at Alex Box. The Tigers have a couple of great ones in Josh Smith (.343/8/38) and Antoine Duplantis (.316/11/61) and use a lot of arms on the mound – no LSU pitcher has thrown more than 70 innings. Arizona State is back in the field since 2016 – it started 25-1 but has gone just 12-16 since April 1. Just sit back and enjoy Spencer Torkelson (.348/21/60) and Hunter Bishop (.347/22/61); if they get hot, they could carry the Devils to the Supers. Southern Miss features a couple of guys who mash in Matt Wallner (.324/21/55) and Bryant Bowen (.340/11/49) – keep an eye on Matthew Guidry, who has walked 44 times and been hit 22 more times. Michael Wilson (.346/9/43) and Brandon Alamo (.343/3/31).
Sean – This has the makings of a great Regional, and runs could be aplenty. LSU slips past Arizona State in the end.
Phil: Spencer Torkelson, Hunter Bishop and Arizona State pound some home runs, but Antoine Duplantis and LSU protect the home turf.
