1 Georgia
2 FAU
3 Florida State
4 Mercer
After winning 52 games total in 2016 and 2017, Georgia’s pups matured into full-fledged Bulldogs who have won 83 games the past two years. UGA is 28-3 at home and hasn’t lost at Foley Field since April 5. The Bulldogs feature a ton of pitching led by Emerson Hancock (8-2, 1.56) and Tony Locey (10-2, 2.68), both of whom allow batters a .167 average. Georgia welcomes FAU, which boasts a balanced offense that featured five hitters with at least six homers and 40 RBI. Will it be the swan song for Florida State legend Mike Martin, who has guided the Seminoles to the NCAA tourney in each of his 40 seasons? Mercer, less than 100 miles south of Athens, didn’t face the Dawgs this year. The Bears got hot at the right time and feature Kel Johnson, a former Georgia Tech star who has hit .297/22/64 this year.
Sean – Emotions are going to run strong with Mike Martin and the Noles in town. FSU will play inspired, but Georgia advances by eliminating FAU.
Phil: Aaron Schunk and Georgia outlast FAU and FSU to host a Super Regional.
