Florida
The Gators are the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The reigning national champions lost five of six to end the season. UF was swept at Mississippi State before dropping two of three in the SEC Tournament. The Gators are making their 11th consecutive trip and 34th overall appearance in the NCAA tourney. Jonathan India (.362/17/42) was the SEC Player of the Year and one of the top defensive third baseman in the nation. Brady Singer was named SEC Pitcher of the Year and skipper Kevin O’Sullivan was named SEC Coach of the Year.
Jacksonville
The Dolphins are making their 15th NCAA tourney appearance and first since 2011. JU defeated Florida 8-4 in Gainesville on April 17. Shortstop Scott Dubrule batted .358 with 52 RBI in being named All-Atlantic Sun First Team. The weekend rotation of Chris Gau (8-3), Tyler Santana (10-1) and Spencer Stockton (8-5) combined to go 26-8 and held opponents to a batting average of .216.
FAU
The Owls appear in the NCAA tourney for the 11th time and the first in two years. FAU reached the title game of the Conference USA Tournament for the first time in program history. The Owls edged Rice 9-8 in 10 innings to reach the championship game before falling to Southern Miss. Tyler Frank was the C-USA Defensive Player of the Year. The shortstop led the team with 19 doubles, 13 homers and 64 runs. Jake Miednik went 7-1 with an ERA of 3.05. He fanned 87 in 76.2 innings.
Columbia
The Lions are making their sixth NCAA tourney appearance and first in three years. Columbia needed 15 innings to knock off Yale in the second and final game of the Ivy League Championship Series. Chandler Bengston had 10 homers and 31 RBI to lead the Lions. The first baseman was named All-Ivy League First Team. Lucas Hall is 3-0 with four saves and an ERA of 1.80. He struck out 31 in 20 innings. Columbia started the season 3-15. Brett Boretti was named Ivy League Coach of the Year.
