Championship Game: #2 Lipscomb 8, #1 North Florida 7 (UNF eliminated)

#1 North Florida 8, #5 FGCU 2 (FGCU eliminated)

 

Allan Hooker belted a three-run homer to cap a five-run fourth as Lipscomb outscored North Florida to capture the A-Sun title. Josh Lee went 1 for 3 and drove in two for the Bisons (39-18). Nick Andros (6-1, 4 IP, 3 H, R, BB, 3 K) earned the win in relief, while Jaesung Hwang (2 IP, 3 H, 3 UE, K) recorded his second save. Corbin Olmstead had two hits and scored twice for the Ospreys (45-16).

 

Kyle Brooks went 4 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBI as UNF eliminated FGCU in the day's first game. Tyler Selesky had two hits and a run for the Eagles (30-26-1).

 

Atlantic 10 (Barcroft Park, Arlington, Va.)

Championship Game: #5 VCU 5, #2 Rhode Island 3 (URI eliminated)

#2 Rhode Island 4, #4 Davidson 3 (DC eliminated)

 

James Bunn had an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to snap a 3-3 tie as VCU edged Rhode Island to capture the A-10 title and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. Bunn (2 for 3) scored on a passed ball later in the frame to give VCU (37-22) an insurance run. Darian Carpenter had a two-run triple in the fifth for VCU. Matt Lees (6-2, 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 BB) picked up the win, while Daniel Concepcion worked around a hit in the ninth to record his 13th save, a school record. Jordan Powell had two hits and one RBI for URI (26-25-1).

 

Jordan Powell had two hits and three RBI in the first day of the game as URI eliminated Davidson. Ben Arkin had two hits and two RBI for the Wildcats (27-22).

 

Big South (John Henry Moss Stadium, Boiling Springs, N.C.)

Championship Game: #1 Radford 5, #2 Coastal Carolina 4

 

Hunter Higgerson had a game-winning RBI with two away in the bottom of the ninth as Radford nipped Coastal Carolina to claim its first Big South title and first NCAA Tournament berth. RU extended its win streak to 15. Josh Reavis (2 for 4) singled and scored in the eighth for the Highlanders (43-14) to knot the score at 4-4. Tyler Chadwick knocked in a pair for the Chanticleers (38-19).

 

Colonial (The Ballpark at Patriots Point, Charleston, S.C.)

Championship Game: #2 UNCW 7, #1 College of Charleston 6 (CofC eliminated)

#1 College of Charleston 4, #5 Delaware 1 (UD eliminated)

 

McDowell had an RBI single in the fifth to break a 4-4 deadlock as UNCW edged College of Charleston to capture the CAA title. Corey Dick had three hits and two RBI for the Seahawks (39-16). Austin Magestro (5-2, 3 IP, H, R, 3 BB, 2 K) earned the win in relief, while Jared Gesell (1.2 IP, H, K) notched his fifth save. Carl Wise drove in a pair for the Cougars (43-13).

 

In the day's first game, Wise had two hits and two RBI as College of Charleston eliminated Delaware. Hayden McCutcheon (1-1, 9 IP, 6 H, UE, 3 K) earned the victory. Greg Olenski had two hits for the Blue Hens (26-24).

 

Horizon (Oil City Stadium, Whiting, Ind.)

Championship Game: #2 Wright State 17, #3 Milwaukee 4 (UWM eliminated)

Gabe Snyder had two hits and five RBI as Wright State outscored Milwaukee to win the Horizon title. Ryan Fucci drove in four, while Mitch Roman had two hits and scored four for the Raiders (41-15). Luke Mamer (4-2, 5 IP, 4 H, R, 7 K) earned the win in relief. Ryan McShane had two for the Panthers (39-20)

 

Sam Koenig drove in two and Tell Taylor went deep as Milwaukee won the first meeting with Wright State.

 

Metro Atlantic (Dutchess Stadium, Fishkill, N.Y.)

Championship Game: #2 Canisius 11, #4 Siena 2 (Siena eliminated)

#2 Canisius 10, #4 Siena 5

 

Connor Panas had three hits and six RBI as Canisius defeated Siena for the second time in the day to claim the MAAC title. Cyrus Senior went 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBI for the Golden Griffins (34-28). Dan Lowndes went 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI for the Saints (23-28).

 

Brett Siddall and Ryan Stekl both went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI as Canisius won the first matchup of the day with Siena. Dan Swain had three hits and one RBI for the Saints.

 

Summit (Sioux Falls Stadium, Sioux Falls, S.D.)

Championship Game: #1 Oral Roberts 6, #3 IPFW 9 (IPFW eliminated)

 

Bryce Howe tossed 7.2 scoreless innings as Oral Roberts blanked IPFW to win the Summit crown. Howe (4-1) allowed four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. Anthony Sequeira fanned two of the final four batters to record his 11th save. Matt Brandy (2 for 4, 3 RBI) and Audie Afenir both homered for the Golden Eagles (41-14). Evan VanSumeren had two hits for the Mastodons (28-26).

  

West Coast (Banner Island Ballpark, Stockton, Calif.)

Championship Game: #2 Pepperdine 4, #4 Loyola Marymount 2

 

Matt Gelalich had two hits, including a home run, and two RBI as Pepperdine downed Loyola Marymount to claim the WCC title. Brad Anderson and Kolten Yamaguchi also went deep for the Waves (30-27). Chandler Blanchard (3-3, 7.1 IP, 4 H, R, 2 BB, 4 K) earned the victory, while Max Gamboa (1.2 IP, 2 H, R, BB, 3 K) recorded his seventh save. David Edwards went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Lions (33-21-1).

 

ACC (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Durham, N.C.)

#4 Florida State 6, #1 Louisville 0

Drew Carlton tossed seven scoreless innings as Florida State blanked Louisville to advance to the championship game against NC State. Carlton (4-5) allowed five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Ben DeLuzio (3 for 4, 2 RBI) homered, while Chris Marconcini had two hits and two RBI for the Seminoles (40-19). Corey Ray and Colby Fitch both had two hits for the Cardinals (43-16).

 

Christopher Barr hit a tying homer in the bottom of the ninth and Brandon Lopez delivered a game-winning single later in the frame as Miami rallied past Notre Dame. Barr went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBI, while Zack Collins went 2 for 2 with a homer, two walks, two runs and three RBI for the Hurricanes (44-14). Robert Youngdahl had two hits and two RBI for the Irish (36-21).

 

Bubby Riley had two hits, including a homer, and five RBI as NC State downed Virginia. Andrew Knizner drove in two for the Wolfpack (34-20). Adam Haseley went 2 for 5 with a run for the Cavaliers (34-22).

 

America East (LeLacheur Park, Lowell, Mass.)

Championship Game: #1 Stony Brook 16, #2 UMBC 11 (UMBC eliminated)

Toby Handley had four hits and three RBI, and Cole Peragine added three hits and three RBI as Stony Brook captured the America East Conference title for the fifth time in school history. Cameron Stone, who was named Most Outstanding Player, tossed 1.2 scoreless innings and finished the tourney with 4.1 perfect innings and two saves. Jake Barnes went 4 for 4 with three RBI for the Retrievers, who finished with 34 wins, second-most in school history.

 

Earlier, Jake Barnes drove in three, and Vince Corbi and Andrew Casali each had two hits and two RBI as UMBC eliminated Hartford.

 

American (Bright House Field, Clearwater, Fla.)

#2 East Carolina 4, #6 Connecticut 2 (UConn eliminated)

#1 Houston 17, #5 Memphis 3 (Memphis eliminated)

 

Hunter Allen had two hits and two runs, and Joe Ingle worked out of two bases-loaded situations as East Carolina eliminated UConn to advance to a championship date with Houston. Jacob Wolfe allowed seven hits and one earned run in seven terrific innings for the Pirates (39-20). Bobby Melley and Blake Davey each had two hits and an RBI for the Huskies, who at 35-25 sit on the NCAA bubble and will find out their fate for a tournament bid on Monday.

 

Houston earned a trip to the championship game as Connor Wong went 5 for 6 with three runs and six RBI, and Corey Julks went 5 for 6 with three runs and five RBI in a win over Memphis. The Cougars (42-17) scored in each of the first four innings, piling up 11 runs. That made things easier for Kyle Dowdy, who allowed three hits and one earned run in eight sterling innings. Brandon Montgomery scored twice for the Tigers (37-21).

 

Big East (TD Ameritrade Park, Omaha, Neb.)

#2 Creighton 12, #3 Seton Hall 1 (SHU eliminated)

 

Matt Gandy had two hits and five RBI as Creighton eliminated Seton Hall to advance to the championship game. Harrison Crawford went 3 for 5 with a homer, three runs and three RBI for the Bluejays (32-18). Keith Rogalla (4-2) allowed two hits in seven scoreless innings with three walks and three strikeouts in recording the win. D.J. Ruhlman had two hits and an RBI for the Pirates (25-25).

 

Conference USA (Pete Taylor Park, Hattiesburg, Miss.)

#8 FIU 15, #4 Middle Tennessee 3 (MTSU eliminated)

#6 UAB 10, #2 Florida Atlantic 0 (FAU eliminated)

 

Johnny Leiske tossed seven scoreless innings, and UAB scored seven times in its final two at-bats in eliminating FAU. Esteban Tresgallo blasted a three-run homer to break open a 3-0 game, and Chase Davis (2 for 5, 2 R) drove in two in a four-run eighth inning for the Blazers (33-24). UAB has allowed one run in 26 innings of C-USA tourney play.

 

Josh Anderson went 2 for 6 with two homers, three runs and six RBI, and Austin Rodriguez went 3 for 5 with a homer and five RBI as FIU advanced to the title game against UAB by beating Middle Tennessee. Cody Crouse turned in six innings of solid work with five hits and two earned runs for FIU (28-29). Jared Allen went 2 for 4 with a run and RBI for the Blue Raiders (32-27).

 

Mid-American (All Pro Freight Stadium, Avon, Ohio)

#3 Ohio 6, #6 Bowling Green 0 (BGSU eliminated)

Connor Sitz tossed a no-hitter – the first in MAC tourney history – as Ohio eliminated Bowling Green to advance to the MAC title game for the first time since 1997. Sitz allowed three walks in the first three innings and walked two more in the eighth before escaping that jam and recording a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Manny DeJesus drove in two, and Mitch Longo homered for the Bobcats.

 

Brandon Estep had a three-run single on a 3-2, two-out count, and Zach Plesac singled him in with the game-winning run as Ball State rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth to eliminate Akron, which had beaten the Cardinals by the same score earlier in the day. The win was No. 700 for Ball State coach Rich Maloney. Estep finished with four RBI, and Matt Haro earned the win with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief. Billy Salem had two hits and four RBI, and Dom Iero added three hits and three runs for the Zips.

 

Earlier, Billy Salem delivered the game-winning RBI single as Akron scored eight times in the bottom of the ninth inning to shock Ball State. Brian Lees and Dom Iero had two-run singles, and with the score 8-7, Matt Rembielak had an infield single to score Iero to tie the game.

 

Ohio Valley (The Ballpark, Jackson, Tenn.)

Kane Sweeney went 3 for 6 with a grand slam and three runs, and Brandon Rawe added three hits, three runs and four RBI as Morehead State captured its first OVC title since 1993 by beating Southeast Missouri. Ryan Kent scored four times, and Brent Stoneking allowed one unearned run in 4.1 innings for the Eagles (38-20). Jason Blum had two hits and two RBI for SEMO (36-23).

 

Earlier, Trevor Ezell had a three-run triple as part of a six-run fourth inning as Southeast Missouri eliminated Belmont. Drew Ferguson went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI for Belmont (29-29).
