Louisville wins at Kentucky
Miami blanks B-CU, FAU downs UCF, Clemson
tops College of Charleston
No. 2 Louisville 5, Kentucky 2
In Lexington, Ky., Mike White went 1 for 3 with a
walk, two runs and one RBI as Louisville won at Kentucky. The
Cardinals (38-11) erased a 2-1 deficit with four in the top of
the sixth. Nick Solak had two hits and one RBI for UL. Jake
Sparger (1-0, 2.1 IP, H, BB) earned the win in relief, while
Zack Burdi pitched a perfect ninth with one strikeout to record
his seventh save. Thomas Bernal had two hits and a run for the
Wildcats (26-21).
No. 13 Miami 14, Bethune-Cookman 0
In Coral Gables, Fla., Garrett Kennedy went 2 for
4 with a double and three RBI as Miami mauled Bethune-Cookman.
The Hurricanes (35-13) scored in each of their first six
at-bats, including five in the fifth. Christopher Barr went 3
for 4 with three runs for Miami. Derik Beauprez (2-2) pitched
five hitless innings with one walk and six strikeouts. Jordan
Robinson went 1 for 4 with a double for the Wildcats (16-38).
No. 17 Florida Atlantic 10, UCF 2
In Boca Raton, Fla., Brendan Sanger had three
hits and three runs to lead FAU past UCF. The Owls (36-11)
scored multiple runs in four of their first six at-bats,
including four in the second. CJ Chatham drove in three, while
Stephen Kerr had two hits and two RBI. David McKay (3-0, 2 IP, 3
H, K) picked up the win. Erik Barber went 2 for 4 with one RBI
for the Knights (28-21).
Clemson 6, No. 19 College of Charleston 3
In Clemson, S.C., Steven Duggar had an RBI double
to snap a 2-2 tie and spark a three-run fifth as Clemson knocked
off College of Charleston. Duggar finished with two hits, two
RBI and a run, while Eli White went 3 for 4 with two runs for
the Tigers (25-24). Clate Schmidt (2-3, 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, BB, 4 K)
recorded the victory. Taylor Wetzel recorded the final two outs
for his second save.
Ohio State 6, Cincinnati 0
In Cincinnati, Ohio, Pat Porter went 3 for 4 with
a double, a homer, two runs and two RBI as Ohio State won at
Cincinnati. The Buckeyes (33-13) scored two in the first and
four in the eighth. Adam Niemeyer (2-0, 5.2 IP, 4 H, BB, 4 K)
earned the victory. Woody Wallace went 1 for 2 and was hit by a
pitch for the Bearcats (15-32).
North Carolina 14, Elon 2
In Chapel Hill, N.C., Joe Dudek went 2 for 3 with
two runs and three RBI as North Carolina thumped Elon. Skye Bolt
(2 for 3, HR, 3 R) and Zack Gahagan (2 for 3, 2B, R) both
knocked in two for the Tar Heels (31-16). UNC used a six-run
third to take control at 8-0. Andy Moore had two hits and a run
for the Phoenix (23-24).
