Ikenberry Steps Down at VMI
VMI
head coach Marlin Ikenberry has resigned to pursue an
opportunity in private business. The move takes effect at the
end of November.
Associate head coach Jonathan Hadra will serve as acting head
coach.
Ikenberry posted 282 victories over 11 seasons as head coach,
the career leader in wins. The Keydets earned their first two
national rankings in program history, 2007 and 2010. Gray-Minor
Stadium was also built during Ikenberry's tenure.
Ikenberry was a four-year starter at catcher for the Keydets,
graduating in 1995. He was an assistant at William & Mary for
three seasons before serving as an assistant at VMI for another
three years.
