The
College of Charleston won the Colonial Athletic Association
title in 2014 in its first year in the conference and advanced
to a Super Regional. The Cougars were a unanimous selection to
repeat as champion this season, in voting by the league's head
coaches and as released by the conference office.
CofC earned eight first-place votes and the maximum 64 points.
UNCW picked up the other first-place vote and was second with 52
points, nipping defending regular-season champion William &
Mary, which was third with 51 points. League newcomer Elon was
fourth with 43 points, followed by Northeastern with 37 points
and Delaware with 29 points. Hofstra and James Madison tied for
seventh with 19 points, with Towson taking 10 points.
The Cougars went 44-19 a season ago and became the fourth No. 4
