#6 Maryland 4 vs. #9 Georgia Tech 9

Georgia Tech wins ACC championship

 

Daniel Spingola had a leadoff double and scored on an error to snap a 4-4 tie in the top of the eighth as Georgia Tech rallied past Maryland. Connor Justus added a two-run single later in the frame for the Yellow Jackets (36-25). A.J. Murray had three hits and three RBI, while Matt Gonzalez went 4 for 5 with three runs for Tech. Anthony Papio had two hits and two RBI, while Blake Schmit homered and scored three for the Terrapins (36-21).

 

Atlantic Sun Tournament (Swanson Stadium, Fort Myers, Fla.)

#3 Kennesaw State 7 vs. #4 Lipscomb 1

Kennesaw State wins Atlantic Sun championship

 

Brennan Morgan had an RBI single to snap a 1-1 tie and spark a three-run bottom of the seventh as Kennesaw State defeated Lipscomb to claim the A-Sun crown. Chris McGowan (2 for 3) added a three-run double in the eighth for the Owls (37-21). James Connell (7-3, 2 IP, H, BB, 5 K) earned the win in relief of Jordan Hillyer (6 IP, 5 H, R, 4 BB, 5 K). Nick Rome went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Bisons (33-28).

 

Big South Tournament (The Winthrop Ballpark, Rock Hill, S.C.)

#3 Campbell 9 @ #2 Winthrop 1

Campbell wins Big South championship

 

Matt Nadolski (3 for 5, 2 R) had an RBI double and scored in a three-run first as Campbell whipped Winthrop to capture its third Big South title and first since 1990. Elijah Trail and Clayton Brown both had two hits and two runs for the Camels (40-19), who won five straight after losing their first tourney contest on Tuesday. Hector Cedano (8-0, 4.1 IP, 7 H, R, 4 K) was awarded the win. TJ Olesczuk had two hits and one RBI for the Eagles (27-33).

 

SEC Tournament (Regions Park, Hoover, Ala.)

#1 Florida 0 vs. #3 LSU 2

LSU wins SEC championship

 

Four pitchers combined on the two-hit shutout and Sean McMullen smacked a two-run homer in the top of the eighth as LSU edged Florida to take the title in front of 10,188 fans. Alden Cartwright allowed one hit and four walks in four innings, while Nate Fury gave up one hit and fanned one in two frames for the Tigers (44-14-1). Zac Person (3-1) struck out one in a 1-2-3 seventh to pick up the win. Kurt McCune (2 IP, BB, K) earned his fifth save. Brandon Mattson went 1 for 2 with a walk for the Gators (40-21).

 

Southern Tournament (Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park, Charleston, S.C.)

#3 Samford 3 vs. #4 Georgia Southern 4

Georgia Southern wins Southern championship

 

Garrett Chapman had an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to tie it and Chase Griffin followed with a base hit to plate the winning run as Georgia Southern rallied past Samford to win the SoCon title. The Eagles (39-21) trailed 3-0 before plating two in the seventh to make it a one-run contest. Caleb Bryson went 2 for 3 with a run for the Bulldogs (35-25).

 

Sun Belt Tournament (Stanky Field, Mobile, Ala.)

#1 Louisiana-Lafayette 6 vs. #2 UT Arlington 5

Louisiana-Lafayette wins Sun Belt championship

 

Blake Trahan belted a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh to snap a 5-5 tie and carry Louisiana-Lafayette past UT Arlington for the Sun Belt crown. Trahan drove in two, as did Ryan Leonards for the Ragin’ Cajuns (53-7). Martin Anderson (2-0) recorded the final two outs in the top of the seventh to claim the victory. Seth Harrison got the final two outs of the contest for his second save. Ryan Bottger (3 for 5) smacked a two-run homer in the seventh for the Mavericks (33-26), while Levi Scott (2 for 4) and Eric Tate had solo shots in the second.

 

Central

 

Big Ten Tournament (TD Ameritrade Park, Omaha, Neb.)

#1 Indiana 8 vs. #2 Nebraska 4

Indiana wins Big Ten championship

 

Will Nolden had three hits and three runs to lead Indiana past Nebraska in front of nearly 20,000 fans to win the Big Ten championship. Kyle Schwarber (2 for 4, 2 R, 2 RBI) launched his 12th home run, while Dustin DeMuth added two hits and two RBI for the Hoosiers (42-13). Luke Harrison (6-0, 3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, BB, K) earned the win in relief, while Jake Kelzer (2.2 IP, H, BB, 2 K) recorded his second save. Ryan Boldt went 3 for 4 with a pair of runs for the Huskers (40-19).

 

Big 12 Tournament (Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, Oklahoma City, Okla.)

#1 Oklahoma State 1 vs. #2 TCU 7

TCU wins Big 12 championship

 

Tyler Alexander (9-3) tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts as TCU topped Oklahoma State to take the title. Dylan Fitzgerald had a two-run single to break a 1-1 deadlock and spark a four-run fourth for the Horned Frogs (42-15). Jerrick Suiter (1 for 2, 2 BB, 2 R) also drove in two for TCU. Saulyer Saxon went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Cowboys (45-16).

 

Conference USA Tournament (Pete Taylor Park, Hattiesburg, Miss.)

#1 Rice 11 vs. #7 UTSA 5

Rice wins Conference USA championship

 

Rice erased a 5-4 deficit with two runs in the top of the eighth and added five in the ninth to outscore UTSA and capture the C-USA crown. Michael Aquino went 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs and four RBI for the Owls (41-18). Kevin McCanna (8-3, 4 IP, 4 H, R, BB, K) earned the victory. John Bormann had three hits and two runs for the Roadrunners (35-26).

 

MAC Tournament (All Pro Freight Stadium, Avon, Ohio)

#4 Kent State 3 vs. #7 Akron 0

Kent State wins MAC championship

 

Michael Clark and John Fasola combined on a five-hit shutout as Kent State blanked Akron to capture the MAC title. Clark (6.2 IP, 4 H, BB, 3 K) exited with the game still scoreless. Fasola (2-1, 2.1 IP, H, K) claimed the win. The Golden Flashes (36-21) scored all their runs in the bottom of the eighth. Zarley Zalewski had a two-run double and scored on a base hit by Curtis Olvey (2 for 4). Jon Wilson went 4 for 4 with a run for KSU. Matt Rembielak went 1 for 2 with a walk for the Zips (28-29).

 

OVC Tournament (The Ballpark at Jackson, Jackson, Tenn.)

#2 Tennessee Tech 2 vs. #3 Jacksonville State 4

Jacksonville State wins OVC championship

 

Ryan Sebra (2 for 4) had an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to snap a 2-2 deadlock and help Jacksonville State edge Tennessee Tech to claim the OVC crown. Zach Stephens (2 for 4) had a two-run homer in the third for the Eagles (40-19). The Gamecocks (36-25) tallied single runs in the fifth and sixth before taking the lead in the seventh. Michael Bishop went deep for JSU. Zachary Fowler (7-7, 7.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, BB, 6 K) registered the win, while Travis Stout retired the final two hitters for his 15th save.

Mountain West Tournament (Earl E. Wilson Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada)

#3 San Diego State 4 @ #1 UNLV 3

San Diego State wins Mountain West championship

 

Evan Potter had a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth to snap a 3-3 tie as San Diego State nipped UNLV to take the crown. Ty France (3 for 5) and Seby Zavala both drove in runs and scored in a three-run first for the Aztecs (42-19), who stranded 13. TJ Kendzora (5-1, 1.2 IP, BB) earned the win, while Michael Cederoth recorded the final two outs for his 20th save. Joey Swanner walked twice and scored a pair for the Rebels (35-23).

 

WAC Tournament (Cubs Park, Mesa, Ariz.)

#1 Sacramento State 10 vs. #3 Utah Valley 3

Sacramento State wins WAC championship

 

Rhys Hoskins (3 for 5) homered twice and drove in four as Sacramento State defeated Utah Valley to secure the championship. David Del grande also went deep, while Chris Lewis had two hits and two RBI for the Hornets (39-22). Brennan Leitao (9-4, 5 IP, 4 H, UE, 3 K) earned the victory. Seth Rhineer went 2 for 5 and drove in a run for the Wolverines (28-30).

 

Northeast

 

America East Tournament (LeLacheur Park, Lowell, Mass.)

#1 Stony Brook 7 vs. #3 Binghamton 8 (12)

Binghamton wins America East championship

 

Eddie Posavec’s RBI single in the bottom of the 12th gave Binghamton a second straight one-run win over Stony Brook and the America East crown. The Bearcats (25-25) trailed 7-4 before scoring a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to tie it. Reed Gamache went 5 for 6 with two runs and two RBI, while Shawn McGraw was 4 for 6 with a double and two runs for BU. The Bearcats had 21 hits and stranded 21. Anthony Grillini (3-0, 5.2 IP, 4 H, BB, 5 K) earned the victory. Kevin Krause went 3 for 5 with a double, two runs and one RBI for the Seawolves (35-17).

 

American Tournament (Bright House Field, Clearwater, Fla.)

#1 Louisville 4 vs. #3 Houston 10

Houston wins American championship

 

Josh Vidales went 5 for 5 with a run and three RBI, while Casey Grayson added two hits and drove in four as Houston defeated Louisville to capture the inaugural American championship. The Cougars (44-15) blew open a 3-2 lead with three in the top of the sixth. Tyler Ford (8-0, 4.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, BB, 3 K) earned the win in relief. Nick Solak went 3 for 3 with one RBI, while Shane Crain and Sutton Whiting went deep for the Cardinals (45-15).

 

Big East (MCU Park, Brooklyn, N.Y.)

#1 Creighton 0 vs. #4 Xavier 5

Xavier wins Big East championship

 

Trent Astle (5-4) tossed a three-hit shutout with one walk and two strikeouts as Xavier blanked Creighton to claim the Big East title. The Musketeers (29-27) scored two in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth. Stephen Schoettmer went 2 for 4 with a run and two RBI for Xavier. Brad McKewon, Nicky Lopez and Landon Lucansky each had a hit for the Bluejays (32-17-1).

 

Metro Atlantic Tournament (FirstEnergy Park, Lakewood, N.J.)

#2 Siena 6-5 vs. #1 Canisius 5-1

Siena wins MAAC championship

 

John Rooney drove in three in the second game as Siena defeated Canisius twice to win the MAAC championship. Taylor Ahearn (2-2, 5.2 IP, 6 H, R, 2 BB) earned the victory for the Saints (26-31). Anthony Massicci had three hits for the Golden Griffins (40-16). In the first game, Brian Fay had a two-run double to highlight a five-run eighth for the Saints. Dave Hoffmann added two hits and two RBI for Siena. Jose Torralba went 2 for 4 with two runs for Canisius.
