over Maine. Frankie Vanderka (4-5, 9 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6
SO) pitched a complete game for the Seawolves (34-16), while
Anthony Italiano went 1 for 4 with one RBI. Scott Heath went 2
for 3 with the only RBI on the night for the Black Bears
(24-28).
Ryan Lukach had a two-run single to cap a
four-run third as Hartford blew past Binghamton. David Mackinnon
went 3 for 4 with two runs and one RBI for the Hawks (31-21).
Sean Newcomb (8-2, 7 IP, 2 H, 1 UE, 4 BB) struck out 14 in
earning the victory. Bill Bereszniewicz went 1 for 4 with a run
for the Bearcats (21-25).

Jon Testani went 3 for
4 with a solo homer and two runs, and Vinny Siena added two RBI
as UConn (27-30) topped Houston (42-15), leaving both teams 1-1
in pool play. Jordan Tabakman worked five innings for the win,
and Anthony Kay got out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth
inning and worked the final 3.2 scoreless innings for his second
save. Connor Hollis and Frankie Ratcliff each went 3 for 5 for
the Cougars.
Jeff Gardner went 2 for
4 with a homer and three RBI, and Alex Chittenden went 2 for 2
with three RBI as Louisville (44-13) coasted past Memphis
(28-29) in the first game of pool play for both teams. Nick
Solak had two hits, two runs and two RBI, and Cole Sturgeon
added two hits and three runs as the Cardinals won in seven
innings due to the run rule. Jake Little went 2 for 4 with two
RBI for the Tigers.
Dylan Moore had three
hits and three RBI to lead UCF past Temple, the second win in as
many days for the Knights (36-22). UCF scored in three of the
first five innings in building a 4-0 lead. Robby Howell (5-1,
7.1 IP, 6 H, R, 4 K) picked up the win. Daniel Dragos drove in
both runs for the Owls (14-32).

Bill Cullen had two
hits and two RBI, and JoJo Howie allowed two earned runs over
6.2 innings as VCU (36-18) upended St. Louis (32-20-1). James
Bunn added three hits, a run and an RBI, and Joey Cujas had two
hits and two runs for the Rams, who scored six runs from the
third to fifth innings. Michael Bozarth went 2 for 4 with a solo
homer, and Alex Sole had two RBI for the Billikens.
Luke Willis went 3 for
4 with a run and an RBI, and John Williams worked seven strong
innings as George Mason (32-20) edged St. Joseph’s (34-15).
Anthony Montefusco hit his first homer of the year as the
Patriots set up a meeting with VCU. Taylor Boyd went 3 for 3
with an RBI for the Hawks.
Fordham tied the game
in the ninth with a run and won it in the 10th when Brandan
Maghini’s grounder was misplayed to bring in the winning run as
the Rams (25-29) eliminated Dayton (23-30). Tim Swatek had two
doubles, a triple and two RBI to pace Fordham. Sergio Placencia
drove in two for the Flyers.
Danny Brennan doubled,
homered and drove in three as Saint Louis eliminated Fordham.
The Billikins (33-20-1) scored in six of their nine at-bats.
Damian Rivera (6-0, 8 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 7 K) went the distance in
registering the win. Joseph Runco went 2 for 4 with a run for
the Rams (24-30).
In the day’s final
game, Collin Forgey homered and drove in five, while Brian
O’Keefe added four hits and four RBI to lead Saint Joseph’s past
Richmond. Tyler
Pallante (1-2, 7.1 IP, 8 H, 2 R, BB, 6 K) recorded the win for
the Hawks (35-15). Matt Dacey had three hits and a run for the
Spiders (24-28-1).

tossed a four-hit shutout with one walk and seven strikeouts as
Seton Hall edged St. John’s. D.J. Ruhlman (2 for 4) doubled in
the second and scored on a two-bagger by Chris Selden (2 for 4)
for the Pirates (39-13). Jarred Mederos went 1 for 3 for the Red
Storm (35-19).
Brad McKewon went 3 for
4 with two runs and two RBI – a two-run triple to key a four-run
fourth – as Creighton (31-16-1) coasted past Xavier (26-27). The
Bluejays added five more runs in the fifth inning as Jake Peter
and Mike Gerber each contributed two hits and two RBI, with
Gerber hitting his 11th homer of the year. Matt Warren worked
five innings to improve to 10-1. Mitch Elliott went 2 for 4 with
a run for the Musketeers.

in the seventh inning as William & Mary (33-20) topped Delaware
(25-26). Ryan Hissey went 4 for 5 with a double, homer, three
runs and two RBI as 10 of the Tribe’s 11 runs scored on home
runs. Jason Ingraham (10-2) allowed 14 hits and four earned runs
for W&M. Zach Lopes and Jake Clark each had two hits and two
runs for the Blue Hens.
Carl Wise went 2 for 3
with a three-run homer as College of Charleston (39-17) slipped
past UNC Wilmington (29-26) to set up a winners’ bracket game
with William & Mary. Tyler Clarke (10-3) worked seven innings
with six hits, four runs and seven strikeouts, and Michael
Hanzlik posted his league-best 14th save. Corey Dick went 3 for
4 with a homer and three RBI for the Seahawks.
Ty
Warrington had a two-run double to cap a three-run second as
Delaware eliminated Northeastern. EJ Stoltzfus went 3 for 3 for
the Blue Hens (26-26). Brandon Hinkle (5-1, 8 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 4
BB, 4 K) picked up the win, while Luke Alicknavitch retired the
final three hitters with one strikeout for his sixth save. Brad
Burcroff (3 for 4, 2 2B) had a two-run double in the first for
the Huskies (26-29).

second win in the tourney. Fairfield next meets Canisius. Ryan
Plourde and Billy Zolga each contributed two hits and a run for
the Stags. Vincent Citro and Tyler Martis led the Saints with
three hits and a run apiece.

2-2 tie. Dan Cellucci went 1 for 3 with one RBI for the Bulldogs
(40-14), while Kevin McAvoy (9 IP, 10 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 7 SO)
pitched a complete game and earns his ninth win. Cole Fabio went
2 for 3 with two runs and one RBI for the Seahawks (19-34).
Dominic Severino went
2 for 3 with an RBI for Central Connecticut to lead them to
victory over Sacred Heart. Nick Neumann (6-3, 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0
ER, 2 BB, 8 SO) earned the win for the Blue Devils (27-20),
while Matt Blandino (2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO) recorded
his second save. CCSU scored all its runs in the fifth. Jayson
Sullivan went 1 for 5 with the only RBI for the Pioneers
(27-27).

Steve Wilkerson singled in Tyler Slaton in the bottom of the
ninth as Clemson (36-22) edged Miami (40-17), giving coach Jack
Leggett career win No. 1,300. Daniel Gossett was brilliant,
allowing seven hits and two earned runs and striking out eight
in 8.1 innings. Wilkerson finished 3 for 5, and Jon McGibbon
went 2 for 2 with a solo homer that tied the game in the sixth
inning. Dale Carey went 4 for 5 for the Hurricanes, giving him
seven hits in two games in the tourney.
Kevin Matir hit a two-run homer – one of four Maryland homers on
the day – to break a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning as the
Terrapins (35-19) knocked off Virginia (43-12). LaMonte Wade
went 2 for 4 with two solo homers, and Charlie White also
homered for the Terps. Jake Stinnett (7-6) struck out 10 and
allowed three hits and 10 hits in eight innings for Maryland.
Nick Howard went 4 for 4 with a run and an RBI, and Joe McCarthy
and Derek Fisher each homered and drove in two for the
Cavaliers.
Drew Van Orden allowed four hits and struck out eight as Duke
(33-24) improved to 1-1 in pool play by blanking Georgia Tech
(34-25). Ryan Deitrich went 4 for 5 with a homer and two RBI,
and Jordan Betts went 3 for 5 with a homer, two runs and two RBI
for the Blue Devils, who led 2-0 before scoring four late runs.
Andy Perez added three hits, including a solo homer. A.J. Murray
had two hits for the Yellow Jackets.

winners' bracket contest. Josh Lee (2 for 3) also drove in a
pair for the Bisons (32-26). Nick Andros (5-2, 5 IP, 3 H, R, BB,
8 K) earned the win in relief. Nick Rivera went 2 for 4 with a
double, two runs and two RBI for the Eagles (37-21).
Justin Motley had two hits, two runs and two RBI, and Bo Way
added three hits and an RBI as Kennesaw State (35-21) beat
Stetson (25-33) in a winners’ bracket game – the Owls have won
21 of 22. Travis Bergen (7-4) allowed six hits and struck out
five in seven scoreless innings for KSU. Kyle Pitts had two hits
and two RBI for the Hatters.
Tyler Roach drove in two runs, and three ETSU pitchers limited
Mercer to eight hits and one run in eliminating the Bears
(38-17). Five Bucs (27-29) had two hits, with Chris Cook and
Jordan Sanford adding an RBI and run apiece. Chesny Young went 2
for 3 with an RBI for Mercer, which has lost six of eight and
now must wait to see if it has done enough to reach the NCAA
Tournament.
Braddock Rowe had a two-run single to tie the game in the ninth,
and Connor Marabell had a game-winning RBI single in the 10th
inning as Jacksonville (21-32) rallied to beat North Florida
(22-31) in a losers’ bracket affair.

single to spark a five-run third for the Panthers (33-20).
Dalton Britt and Ashton Perritt both doubled for the Flames
(40-15).
Josh Strong tossed a
complete game, and TJ Olesczuk went 2 for 4 with a run as
Winthrop (26-32) knocked off Coastal Carolina (24-32). Connor
Owings had a two-run single in the third inning, Strong yielded
little the rest of the way, finishing with seven hits and two
strikeouts.
Brad Keen scored just ahead of the throw to the plate on Danny
Hrbek’s grounder to short in the bottom of the ninth inning as
Radford (33-22) eliminated Gardner-Webb (24-31). Josh Gardiner
had two hits and two RBI, and Shane Johnsonbaugh added two hits
and two runs for the Highlanders. JJ Nazarro went 3 for 5 with a
homer and two RBI for the Bulldogs.
Matt Parrish and Clayton Brown had two hits and two RBI apiece
as Campbell (32-20) eliminated Charleston Southern (32-22).
Hector Cedano allowed eight hits and two earned runs in 8.2
innings for the Camels. Chase Shelton hit a two-run homer in the
ninth inning for the Bucs.

earn his first save as Kent State edged Ball State in a winners’
bracket contest. Cody Koch went 3 for 5 with two doubles, two
runs and one RBI for the Golden Flashes (34-21). S Godfrey had a
two-run double in a three-run first for the Cardinals (39-17).
Akron blew past Buffalo with Daulton Mosbarger
going 3 for 5 with a double, two runs and two RBI. Mosbarger had
a two-run double to spark a four-run eighth for the Zips
(27-28). John Valek (9 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO) pitched
the entire game earning the win for the Zips and advancing his
record to 6-4. Thomas Richards knocked in the only run for the
Bulls (25-25).
Theo Piccirilli went 2 for 2 off the bench with
one RBI to lead Western Michigan to a win over a tough Bowling
Green team. Piccirilli pinch hit for Brandon Cable starting in
the eighth and hitting two singles on the day. Keegan Akin (4.2
IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 1 SO) earns the win for the Broncos (23-30)
advancing his record to 6-4. Leadoff hitter Brian Bien went 2
for 3 with one RBI for the Falcons (25-27).
Chad Sedio homered to allow Miami to slide by
Central Michigan. Sedio went 1 for 3 with two RBI, while Steve
Sada went 3 for 4 with a run for the Redhawks (30-26). Ryan
Powers (9-3, 6.1 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO) earned the win
and Charles Zubrod (2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 1 SO) earns his
fifth save. Tyler Huntey went 3 for 4 with two RBI for the
Chippewas (35-23).

Andrus had two doubles, while Krueger doubled, homered and drove

Williams went 3 for 4 with a homer and two runs as CSU
Bakersfield upset top-seeded Sacramento State. Oscar Sanay also
had three hits, while David Metzgar drove in a pair for the

K) went the distance for CSU Bakersfield. Chris Lewis went 3 for

doubles, and two runs for the Waves (37-16). Corey Miller (8-4,
7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 4 K) earned the win, while Eric Karch
pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save. Quinton Perry (2 for
4) had a two-run homer in the second for the Broncos (26-29).
