WCC Preseason Coaches' Poll
Gonzales leads All-West Coast
Conference Team
Junior Marco Gonzales of Gonzaga, a two-way
standout, headlined the Preseason All-West Coast Conference
Team, in voting by the league’s head coaches and released by the
conference office.
Gonzales was the 2012 Pitcher of the Year in the
WCC. Sophomore left-hander Travis Radke of Portland, the 2012
WCC Freshman of the Year, also made the squad.
Loyola Marymount led all teams with four players:
senior outfielder Matt Lowenstein, sophomore right-hander Trevor
Megill, senior catcher Colton Plaia and sophomore right-hander
Colin Welmon. Gonzaga was next with three players.
The 2013 campaign begins on Friday, Feb. 15, with
all nine teams in action. Conference play kicks off the third
weekend of March., highlighted by BYU at San Diego. The regular
season champion claims the WCC’s automatic bid to the NCAA
Tournament.
