SEC Preview
Arkansas is favorite in SEC
Preseason Poll
Arkansas
has been picked to win the title in the Southeastern Conference
Preseason Coaches’ Poll, in voting by the league’s head coaches
as released by the conference office.
The Razorbacks, under head coach Dave Van Horn
(left), picked up 12 first-place votes and 90 points to win the
Western Division. LSU was second with one first-place vote and
75 points. Mississippi State placed third with one first-place
vote and 59 points, followed by Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama and
Auburn.
Vanderbilt topped the Eastern Division with 12
first-place votes and 89 points. Florida was second with 67
points. Kentucky and South Carolina tied for third, both
receiving one first-place vote and 59 points. Georgia was fifth,
followed by Tennessee and Missouri.
The 2013 campaign begins on Friday, Feb. 15, with
conference play kicking off the weekend of March 15-17. The SEC
Tournament will be held at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in
Hoover, Ala. The 12-team event will be played May 21-26.
