McQueen, Montague suspended at
Richmond
The
University of Richmond has suspended head coach Mark McQueen
(left) and assistant coach Tag Montague for a violation of the
athletic department’s code of conduct. The suspensions are
indefinite and begin immediately.
Assistant coach Charlie Goens has been named
acting head coach, effective immediately.
McQueen is in his sixth season as head coach of
the Spiders after 13 years as an assistant coach at UR. Richmond
is 30-21 overall and 13-10 in the Atlantic 10. The Spiders are
scheduled to play their regular-season finale at VCU this
morning at 10:45 a.m. UR needs a victory to secure the seventh
and final spot in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
