Roth headline CBI Preseason A-A Team
Florida
catcher Mike Zunino has been named the Preseason Player of the
Year, and South Carolina left-hander Michael Roth is the
Preseason Pitcher of the Year on the CollegeBaseballInsider.com
2012 Preseason All-American Team.
The 2011 SEC Player of the Year, Zunino batted .371 in 72 games
with 23 doubles, 19 homers, 75 runs and 67 RBI. He and the
Gators reached the championship series of the College World
Series last year.
The 2011 CBI National Player of the Year, Roth posted a 14-3
with a 1.06 ERA. In 21 appearances and 20 starts, Roth allowed
108 hits in 145 innings with 41 walks and 112 strikeouts. He
helped the Gamecocks capture their second consecutive national
championship.
There are six members of the 2011 CBI All-America
First Team returning for 2012 and six Second-Team selections as
well.
CBI is entering its 11th season with daily free
coverage of NCAA Division I college baseball.
