#7 LSU 4, Stony Brook 4 (suspended, top 12)

LSU has used solo homers in each of the past three innings to extend its first-round game with Stony Brook at Alex Box Stadium. The contest was suspended after 11 innings due to weather and will resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT. Sal Intagliata had a two-run homer in the top of the second to give the Seawolves the early lead. Ty Ross (right) had a RBI groundout in the seventh to put the Tigers on the board. JaCoby Jones belted a leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth to even the score at 2. Steven Goldstein went deep in the top of the 10th for SBU, but LSU answered in the bottom of the frame. With two away, Tyler Moore sent a foul fly ball down the left field line that Goldstein overran. After a couple more foul balls, Moore homered to make it a 3-3 deadlock. Travis Jankowski had a leadoff single in the top of the 11th and came in on a shallow sacrifice fly by Kevin Krause to give the visitors a 4-3 lead. Mason Katz responded with a leadoff dinger in the bottom of the frame. The Tigers put a pair on, but could not score again as the game was halted after 11 due to rain. Brandon McNitt (7 IP, 3 H, 1 UE, 2 BB, 3 K) was brilliant in his start for Stony Brook. (photo by Hilary Scheinuk/LSU Athleteics)
