2011 (0-2 at Fort Worth Regional)
Notes: The Sooners are
back in the field and make a return trip to Charlottesville,
where they won the 2010 Super Regional. This is a much different
team that that team, especially on offense where OU at times has
struggled to score runs. But the Sooners are still very
dangerous, proving that by taking four of five from Baylor the
past few weeks and advancing to the Big 12 tourney title game.
Jordan John missed his freshman year due to Tommy John surgery,
but the lefty has emerged as the Sooners ace as a sophomore.
Fellow lefty Steven Okert went 9-1 with a 1.91 ERA last year at
Grayson County College. Max White has started games in center,
left, third and first this year.

State earned a lot of early attention by taking two of three at
LSU the second weekend of the season. This is ASU’s fourth NCAA
appearance and first in 26 years. The previous trips came in
1973, 1984 and 1986. The Mountaineers received an at-large bid
in 1986, the first SoCon team to do so. ASU has not played
Oklahoma or Virginia in the past. The Mountaineers are 2-0
against Army, taking a pair in 2006 in Davidson, N.C. Chris
Pollard was a unanimous choice for SoCon Coach of the Year in
voting by the league’s coaches and media. He was the third ASU
coach so honored and the first since Jim Morris in 1984. Ryan
Arrowood was named SoCon Pitcher of the Year. Arrowood set a
program record with 27 career victories. Daniel Kassouf set a
record with 17 home runs and Nathan Hyatt owns the single-season
mark of 15 saves.
