Notes: Kevin O'Sullivan has been Florida coach for four years and the Gators are hosting a Regional for the third straight time, the first time that's happened in school history. SEC Player of the Year Mike Zunino is one of the best catchers in the country and slugged .668. Two-way player Brian Johnson suffered a concussion when he was pitching and was hit in the back of the head by a Zunino throw to second on a steal attempt. It isn't yet known if he will be able to play in the Regionals. Preston Tucker boasts a .511 on-base average and is second to Zunino in total bases. Hudson Randall tossed two complete games and has eight walks in 96 innings. As a staff, the Gators walk less than one batter a game. Freshman Karsten Whitson was the ninth overall pick in last year's Major League Draft but joined the Gators instead, limiting opponents to a .240 average. Austin Maddox was a catcher in high school but now plays first and is a relief pitcher - he allowed 14 hits and struck out 20 in 23.1 innings.

The Hurricanes have four national championships (1982, 1985, 1999 and 2001) and are tied for the fifth-most in Division I. USC has 12, LSU and Texas have six, Arizona State has five and Cal State Fullerton has four. This is the third straight year in which Miami heads to Gainesville for postseason baseball. The Hurricanes lost twice to Florida in the Super Regional a year ago and went 2-2 in the Gainesville Regional in 2009. Sophomore Zeke DeVoss, the team leader in thefts, is majoring in criminology. He is tied for fifth in the nation with 32 steals. DeVoss was picked in the 38th round by the Boston Red Sox in 2009.

Last NCAA Appearance: 2006 (2-2 at Lincoln Regional)

Notes: The Jaspers are in the field for just the second time in 54 years, and they did it in dramatic fashion with two walkoff wins in the MAAC tourney. The final win over Siena wasn't as dramatic but gave coach Kevin Leighton his 200th win in his sixth season. Tourney MVP Mike Giordano, who has three complete games, struck out 13 in a 5-1 win over Siena. The last time Manhattan made the field was 2006, and it registered one of the great college baseball upsets in the past 10 years - the Jaspers beat Joba Chamberlain and Nebraska. John Soldinger was named the MAAC pitcher of the year, and he and Eric Luksis each had six complete games on the year. Offensively, much of the offense goes through first-teamers Mike McCann and Chad Salem, who combined for 15 of the team's 32 homers. Leighton starred on the diamond at Seton Hall.
