in the nation in ERA at 2.31. Junior right-hander Taylor
Jungmann was a perfect 13-0 with an ERA of 0.95 before losing to
Kent State in a regional contest. He was a unanimous choice for

Last NCAA appearance:
2010 (3-0 in Tempe Regional, 2-0 in Tempe Super Regional, 0-2 at
College World Series)
Notes: Arizona State
swept the Tempe Regional, defeating New Mexico, Charlotte and
Arkansas. The Sun Devils outscored their opponents 33-7 in three
games. ASU has reached the Super Regionals for the fifth
straight year. The Sun Devils have reached the College World
Series for two consecutive seasons and three of the past four.
ASU hits as usual, but didn't put up the kind of numbers it
normally does. The Sun Devils' batting average is off by about
40 points and they have scored about 100 fewer runs - or about
two a game - than last year at the same point in the season.
Don't tell that to Joey DeMichele, who slugged .665 with 30
extra-base hits. Johnny Ruettiger, who leads the team in hits
and runs, is the nephew of "Rudy' Ruettiger of Notre Dame fame.
Brothers Mitchell and Mark Lambson have combined for nine wins -
Mitchell is a junior lefty, Mark is a freshman righty. Brady
Rodgers had a 2.11 ERA last year as a freshman and backed it up
with a 2.85 mark this year, striking out 83 and walking only
nine. Including two years of junior college, Kramer Champlin is
27-6 over three years of college ball.
