Mississippi State rallies
behind Ryan Duffy
The Mississippi State baseball program is working
to raise funds for the medical expenses of former Bulldog Ryan
Duffy, who was critically injured in a diving accident on August
14 while on vacation in Key West, Fla.
Duffy remains in the intensive care unit at
Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla. He suffered a broken
neck and is paralyzed from the neck down.
The members of the MSU baseball team, the Diamond
Girls, baseball foster parents and others within the community
will sell “Do It For Duffy” wristbands for $5 each.
A native of Naples, Fla., Duffy was a catcher and
outfielder for Mississippi State from 2007 to 2010. He batted
.358 in 42 games this past season as a senior with 10 home runs
and 41 RBI.
More than 250 people came together this past
Saturday for a barbecue fundraiser in Naples.
