CollegeBaseballInsider.com is coming to bat for another season.

Today kicks off our ninth season of covering Division I college baseball on a daily basis. As many of you know, when we introduced ourselves to the national landscape, we called CollegeBaseballInsider.com a “labor of love.”

As we start another season, we still labor.

We update our national scores page several times a day. And we provide game recaps for the Top 20 and other top games of the day. We honor players and teams on a weekly basis, and we take a glimpse inside college baseball with player journals from around the country. And we help coaches fill their open dates, sometimes within hours of posting and most times within a couple of days. In short, we try to give players, coaches, families and fans a little bit of everything.

And, we still love.

It’s tough to produce the daily original copy with the schedules we keep, but we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t enjoy it. Pulling near all-nighters the night before the NCAA tournament field is announced – not only predicting the field, but trying to finish compiling capsules on all 64 teams – makes us tick. We thrive on: Boston College and Texas playing all night; Texas Southern and Bucknell pulling NCAA shockers; knowing that guys like Tim Lincecum, Jered Weaver, Dustin Pedroia and Evan Longoria would be stars maybe a little earlier than many baseball fans (OK, Pedroia even surprised us!); and the effort schools big and small make in playing a game we believe is best.

With first pitch only days away, our anticipation is building. We hope you’ve enjoyed our previews, and we hope you’ll continue to check us out every day. Keep spreading the word, and keep letting us know when we do well or need to do better.

One last thing…thank you. Thank you for allowing us to give you our spin on college baseball. We hope to see you at the ballpark.
