Torres Homers Twice and Drives
in Four for Texas
In Austin, Texas, Michael Torres went 4 for 5
with two homers and four RBI to lead Texas past TCU 10-4 in the
opener of the Austin Super Regional in front of 7,220 fans at
UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Torres had a solo homer in the second to give the
Longhorns (45-13-1) a 3-1 lead. His three-run blast in the
seventh put Texas on top 10-4.
Kevin Keyes and Connor Rowe both drove in two for
the Longhorns.
Chance
Ruffin (10-2) went the distance for the Longhorns with seven
hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. It was his third complete
game of the season.
Taylor Featherston had a dinger in the top of the
first for the Horned Frogs (39-17). Matt Carpenter (left) went
deep in the fourth and Matt Vern added a two-run homer in the
sixth for TCU.
