GREENVILLE, N.C. – Binghamton registered its first NCAA Tournament victory by scoring all its runs with two outs in an 11-6 elimination win over George Mason at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

The Bearcats (30-21) will play on Sunday at 2 p.m. against the loser of tonight’s East Carolina-South Carolina game. The Patriots finish their season at 42-14.

Corey Taylor had a two-run shot in the first for BU to tie the school’s single-season home run record with 16.

Every time Mason scored, Binghamton answered. The Patriots tied it in the fourth on a two-out, two-run single by Chris Henderson. Jeff Skelhorne-Grose had a sac fly and Jeff Abrams added an RBI single in the bottom of the frame as the Bearcats reclaimed the lead at 4-2. Henry Dunn had a three-run homer in the sixth, his second of the season, to push the lead to 7-2.

Dan Schafferman had an RBI double in the seventh, the first extra-base hit for the Patriots. Peter Bregartner added a sac fly in the bottom of the frame to make it 9-3.

Schafferman belted a three-run homer in the eighth, his third, to pull Mason within two at 8-6. David Ciocchi had a two-run single as the Bearcats plated three in the bottom of the eighth to complete the scoring.
