College World Series in 11 of 15 years. Miami has won four
national championships (1982, 1985, 1999, 2001). Morris is a
three-time National Coach of the Year. Junior closer Kyle
Bellamy had been named one of 30 semifinalists for the Golden
Spikes Award. The Hurricanes opened Alex Rodriguez Park this
season, thanks in part to a $3.9 million contribution by New
York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez. Miami was 23-11 in
home contests and averaged 2,170 fans. The Hurricanes are 32-0
when leading after six innings.
