Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic to Debut in 2010 

Texas Tech head coach Dan Spencer announced the creation of the Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic, an annual tournament to be held at Dan Law Field beginning in 2010.

The 2010 tournament will feature Bethune-Cookman and Washington State joining the Red Raiders in a four-day round-robin event from Feb. 25-28.

Brooks Wallace was a former Texas Tech shortstop and assistant coach. A four-year starter from 1977-80, Wallace was All-Southwest Conference as a senior. He was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 1984 and passed away on March 24, 1985, at the age of 27.

Feb. 28   Washington State at Texas Tech 12 p.m.
