Brett Wallace was a projected 1st thru 5th round pick coming out of Justin Siena
High School. He showed incredible bat speed in high school. When he was not
selected until the 42nd round by Toronto, he decided to go to ASU instead of
signing out of high school. He has lead ASU to their seventh Pac-10
championship. ASU coach Pat Murphy was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year.
For the first time ever, Winkles Field-Packard Stadium
at Brock Ballpark will host a Super Regional.

Notes – Ole
Miss has not been to the College World Series since 1972. Ole Miss is making its
third straight trip to the Super Regionals. The Rebels were ousted by Miami
(Fla.) and Texas the past two seasons. This is Ole Miss’ 13th trip to
the NCAA Tournament and the sixth NCAA appearance in Mike Bianco’s seven seasons
with the Rebels. Ole Miss hosted a regional for the fourth consecutive year. The
Rebels scored 39 runs in three regional victories. Pitcher Lance Lynn was named
MVP of the Oxford Regional after tossing a two-hit shutout in the second round
against second-seeded Southern Miss. Jordan Henry is the younger brother of
Justin Henry.
