A Chance for a Championship
This is the weekend
that we have prepared for all year, a chance to win the Big 12 Championship. Any
combination of two wins for us or two losses for Nebraska will give us the
title, making this easily the most exciting weekend of the year.
Coming off a great
weekend sweep of Texas A&M, the team is confident and ready for the weekend
ahead. We should have one of the best pitching matchups of the year Friday night
as Mark McCormick and Max Scherzer meet. Two of the best arms in the country
should be a treat for what we hope to be a packed house.
Missouri is no
doubt a quality team that will be a challenge for us this weekend, but the
opportunity to win a home series to clinch the title is something we all would
have taken at the beginning of the year. We all know what we have to do this
weekend, and are excited to get the series started.
