Texas is the near-unanimous No. 1 in the CBI Preseason Poll.
The Longhorns were first in five of the national polls and second in the other.
Vanderbilt checked in at No. 2. The Commodores were first in one poll, second in four and third in the other.
Defending national champion Mississippi State was third. The Bulldogs were third in three polls, fourth in one, sixth in one and ninth in the other.
Stanford came in fourth. The Cardinal were third in one poll, fifth in three polls, sixth in one poll and seventh in the other.
LSU was fifth. The Tigers were third in one poll, fourth in one, seventh in one, eighth in two and 10th in one.
There were seven teams from the SEC in the CBI Composite Poll. There were five from the ACC, four from the Big 12, two from the Pac-12 and single entries from the American and Big West.
