CollegeBaseballInsider.com is proud to support Band Together to Strike Our ALS, an effort launched in 2016 by Pete Frates and his family that calls on college baseball teams across the country to wear special wristbands to raise awareness of the disease.
Proceeds from the purchase of the wristbands will support the fundraising efforts of Frates, a former star baseball player at Boston College and inspiration behind the “Ice Bucket Challenge.”
The wristbands read “Strike Out ALS” and feature Frates’ initials and number (PF3) and are available for purchase: $10 for 2 sweatbands (one pair); $50 for 12 sweatbands (six pairs) and $100 for 36 sweatbands (18 pairs).

“Our hope is that college baseball teams around the country will join one of their own in striking out this dreadful disease,” John Frates, Pete’s father, said when launching Band Together to Strike Out ALS.
Among the conferences that jumped on board last year were the ACC, Big 12, MAC, Southern and the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association.
