Knoxville Super Regional: Notre Dame 8, No. 1 Tennessee 6
ND homered in each of the first four innings in powering past UT in their Super Regional opener. Carter Putz had a two-run homer in the first, Jared Miller belted a solo shot in the second, Jack Zyska launched a two-run dinger in the third and Jack Brannigan added a three-run dinger in the fourth as the Irish (39-14) built an 8-1 lead. The Vols (56-8) had three homers, all solo shots, by Trey Lipscomb in the fourth, Jorel Ortega in the sixth and Jordan Beck in the ninth. Lipscomb also had a two-run double in the seventh for UT.
College Station Super Regional: No. 5 Texas A&M 5, No. 12 Louisville 4
Troy Claunch delivered a game-winning RBI single with two away in the bottom of the ninth as TAMU outlasted UL. Trevor Werner drew a leadoff walk in the ninth, moved to second on a two-out base hit by Austin Bost, advanced to third when Ryan Targac was hit by a pitch and scored the game-winner on the single by Claunch. The Aggies (41-18) started the scoring in the first when Claunch was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the first. Logan Beard had a two-run single and Ben Bianco added a sacrifice fly in the second as the Cardinals (42-20-1) took a 3-1 advantage. Jordan Thompson had a run-scoring single in the third as the Aggies pulled within one. Ben Metzinger (3 for 5) had an RBI double in the fifth as UL took a 4-2 advantage. Thompson belted a two-run homer in the seventh to level the score at 4-4. The Aggies had 11 hits and drew 10 walks while stranding 17. Jacob Palisch (6-3) pitched two scoreless innings with two hits, one walk and one strikeout to earn the victory.
Greenville Super Regional: No. 8 East Carolina 13, No. 9 Texas 7
Jacob Jenkins-Cowart knocked in four, while Bryson Worrell had four hits and four runs as ECU topped UT to open their Super Regional. Murphy Stehly had a two-run homer in the top of the first for the Longhorns (45-20) before Worrell scored on a passed ball and Jenkins-Cowart put the Pirates (46-19) on top for good with a two-run single in the bottom of the frame. Starling had a two-run dinger in the fourth and Worrell went deep in the fifth as ECU took a 7-2 advantage. Ivan Melendez and Stehly had dingers in the sixth and Douglas Hodo III homered in the seventh as UT pulled within two at 7-5. After the Pirates plated a run in the seventh, the Longhorns got two in the eighth to make it a one-run contest but stranded the tying run on third. Alec Marakewicz had a home run off the center fielder’s glove to spark a five-run eighth as ECU posted the 13-7 victory. C.J. Mayhue (6-1, 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, BB) fanned nine in earning the win, while Zach Agnos worked two scoreless innings to record his third save. Stehly finished with two homers and three RBI for UT.
Blacksburg Super Regional: Oklahoma 5, No. 4 Virginia Tech 4
Jake Bennett allowed one earned run over seven innings as OU edged VT to kick off their series. Bennett (9-3) scattered eight hits and surrendered four runs, only one of which was earned. He walked two and struck out eight. Trevin Michael tossed two hitless innings with four punchouts to record his 10th save. The Sooners (41-21) scored one in the first, two in the second and two in the sixth in taking a 5-0 lead. Kendall Pettis had two hits and two RBI, while Jackson Nicklaus and Brett Squires both had two hits and two runs for OU. Carson Jones had a two-run homer in the sixth and Jack Hurley added a two-run shot in the seventh for the Hokies (44-13).
