Mississippi State 10, Vanderbilt 8 (MSU leads series 1-0)

Elijah MacNamee belted a walk-off homer for the second straight weekend as MSU outscored Vandy. Jake Mangum had given the Bulldogs (37-25) an 8-7 lead with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth before Pat DeMarco (3 for 5, 2 R, 2 RBI) tripled and scored on an error with two away in the top of the ninth to tie the game for the Commodores (34-26). Hunter Stovall had a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth before MacNamee (3 for 5, 5 RBI) went deep to left to end the contest, his second homer of the game. MacNamee had three home runs during the regular season and has belted five in six NCAA Tournament contests. MSU trailed Florida State 2-0 in a regional elimination game last Saturday before MacNamee’s three-run shot in the bottom of the ninth kept the Bulldogs’ season alive. MSU started the scoring with a pair of runs in the second. In the top of the third, Stephen Scott had an RBI single and scored to tie it at 2-2. MacNamee had a three-run homer to cap a five-run rally in the bottom of the third as the Bulldogs took a 7-2 advantage. DeMarco had a two-run dinger to highlight a five-run fifth as the Commodores leveled the score at 7-7.

Chapel Hill Super Regional

#6 North Carolina 7, #11 Stetson 4 (UNC leads series 1-0)

Cody Roberts put UNC ahead for good with a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth in ending Stetson’s 18-game winning streak. Mike Spooner had a homer in the top of the first to give Stetson (48-12) the early lead. Michael Busch drew one-out walk in the bottom of the frame for UNC (42-18), was doubled to third by Roberts and scored on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Riley to level the score at 1-1. Roberts broke the deadlock with his three-run dinger in the fifth as the Tar Heels took a 4-1 advantage. The Hatters pulled within one with two in the top of the seventh before Busch belted a two-run homer in a three-run bottom of the seventh as UNC took a 7-3 lead. Spooner had an RBI single in the top of the ninth, but Stetson left the bases loaded as the game ended with a long flyout to left. Cooper Criswell (5 IP, 4 H, R, 2 BB, 3 K) was the starter and winner for the Heels, while Austin Bergner record the final out to pick up the save. First-round draft pick Logan Gilbert (5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 6 K) suffered the loss.

Fullerton Super Regional

Washington 8, Cal State Fullerton 5 (UW leads series 1-0)

Levi Jordan and AJ Graffinino both had three hits and two RBI as UW outscored Fullerton. Nick Kahle had three hits and three runs for the victors. The Titans (35-24) scored single runs in each of the first two innings. Daniel Cope delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the first and Chris Prescott was plunked to lead off the second and came home on an error to give the home team a 2-0 advantage. The Huskies (34-23) responded in the third as Braiden Ward delivered a sacrifice fly and Jordan added an RBI single to knot the score at 2-2. UW went ahead in the fifth as Jordan had a sac fly and Graffanino followed with a run-scoring single for a 4-2 lead. The Huskies added insurance in the seventh as Ward and Kahle led off with singles and each scored an unearned run, Ward on an error and Kahle on a base hit by Graffanino, as UW took a 6-2 lead. Fullerton pulled within one in the bottom of the seventh. Hank LoForte (2 for 4, 2 R) had a leadoff walk, moved to third on a double by Ruben Cardenas and scored on a groundout by Cope. Sahid Valenzuela (3 for 5) had an RBI triple and scored on a single by Jace Chamberlain to make it a 6-5 contest. K Weiss added a two-run single in the top of the ninth to make the final 8-5. Lucas Knowles (5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) earned the victory, while Joe DeMers worked a scoreless ninth to register the save.

Corvallis Super Regional

#3 Oregon State 8, #14 Minnesota 1 (OSU leads series 1-0)

Trevor Larnach and Adley Rutschman hit consecutive homers with two away in the first, and Luck Heimlich fanned nine over 8.2 innings, as OSU downed UM. Heimlich allowed seven hits and one run while not walking a batter. Larnach and Rutschman both went 2 for 3 with a walk, two runs and two RBI, while Steven Kwan also had two hits and knocked in two for the Beavers (48-10-1). Nick Madrigal had a two-out single in the bottom of the first and came home on a dinger by Larnach to give OSU a 2-0 lead. Rutschman went deep one batter later to make it 3-0. Kyle Nobach had a leadoff walk in the second and scored on a sac bunt by Kwan as the lead grew to 4-0. In the fourth, Zak Taylor had an RBI double and Kwan added a run-scoring single to give OSU a 6-0 lead. The Beavers added a pair in the seventh as Rutschman launched an RBI double and scored on a triple by Michael Gretler to make it 8-0. Toby Hanson homered in the top of the eighth as the Gophers (44-14) avoided the shutout.
