In Los Angeles, Brayden Dowd had an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to drive in the game-winner as USC nipped OSU in the Pac-12 series opener. Ethan Hedges (2 for 3, BB) homered in the fourth for the Trojans (5-5, 10-15) before Gavin Turley (1 for 2, 2 BB) went deep in the seventh for the Beavers (5-2, 21-3). Caden Aoki (4 H, R, 2 BB) fanned eight in the first six innings for USC, while Josh Blum (2-0) struck out two in the top of the ninth and picked up the win.

In Fayetteville, Ark., Hagen Smith and two relievers combined for 19 strikeouts as Arkansas beat LSU to begin their SEC set. Smith (5-0) worked 6.0 innings with five hits, two runs and 10 strikeouts. Will McEntire (2.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB) fanned eight, while Stone Hewlett struck out the final batter of the game to earn his first save. Kendall Diggs had a three-run homer in the eighth for the Razorbacks (6-1, 21-3). Tommy White went 2 for 4 with a homer and two runs for the Tigers (2-5, 20-7).
