No. 18 Ole Miss 5, No. 9 Texas A&M 4 (11)

In Oxford, Miss., Thomas Dillard delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the 11th as Ole Miss rallied past TAMU to kick off their SEC series. Hoehner (2 for 4, R, RBI) drew a leadoff walk and scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 11th to give the Aggies (11-7-1, 30-13-1) a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the frame, Ryan Olenek (2 for 6) had a one-out single and moved to second on a base hit by Grae Kessinger (2 for 4, 2 BB). Tyler Keenan walked for the third time to load the bases, and Dillard’s single brought home Olenek and Kessinger. Parker Caracci (2-2, 3 IP, R, BB, 5 K) earned the victory for the Rebels (11-8, 28-15).

No. 5 Vanderbilt 12, Auburn 6

In Nashville, Tenn., Austin Martin had three hits and three RBI as Vandy won the SEC series opener against Auburn. Martin had a sacrifice fly to cap a three-run second, an RBI single in a four-run third, and a run-scoring single in a four-run sixth. Drake Fellows (9-0, 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, BB, 4 K) picked up the win, while Mason Hickman (4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 6 K) recorded his third save for the Commodores (13-6, 32-9). Judd Ward went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI, while Matt Scheffler had two hits and two RBI for the Tigers (10-9, 27-15).

BYU 11, Pacific 7 (10)

In Stockton, Calif., Zack Peterson belted a pinch-hit grand slam in the top of the 10th as BYU outlasted Pacific in their West Coast series opener. It was the first career hit for the freshman Peterson, who was 0-11 coming into the game. Brock Hale and Jaren Hall also went deep for the Cougars (11-5, 27-10). James Free went 4 for 4 with a double, two homers, three RBI and four runs for the Tigers (8-11, 21-20).
