CBI has learned that Shawn Pender, the head coach at Saint Joseph's for the past three years, has accepted a position within the Cincinnati Reds organization. We are hearing that an assistant coach will be promoted to interim head coach and we believe it will be Lee Saverio, who joined the Hawks' staff as a volunteer after being dismissed as head coach at La Salle last year. Saverio compiled a 75-125-2 record in four years with the Explorers. The improving Hawks went 10-39 a year ago under Pender.
