Arizona State still unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite
Poll
Miami climbs to No. 2; Florida State up to No. 3; UNC falls to No. 4
By sitting on top of all four national
polls for the second consecutive week,
Arizona State remains No. 1
in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.
The Sun Devils went 5-1 in their six home games this
past week to raise their record to 22-1. They defeated then-No. 2 Arizona,
split two games with Northern Colorado, took a pair from Florida International
and finished the week with a win over nationally-ranked UC Irvine.
Miami (Fla.) won its four games last
week to improve to 17-2 and move up to the No. 2 spot. Florida State (19-2)
rebounded from a midweek loss to Florida to sweep a three-game ACC set at
Virginia Tech and climbed to No. 3. North Carolina (18-4) won twice against
Princeton and took two of three at Maryland and fell one spot to No. 4. Long
Beach State (16-3) defeated San Diego State and swept a three-game series with
nationally-ranked UCLA to move to No. 5.
Missouri (18-2) won five games and climbed
three places to No. 6. UC Irvine (16-2) went 2-1 and rose one spot to No. 7.
Arizona (13-5) went 1-3 and fell six places to No. 8. San Diego (16-7)
reappeared at No. 18 and Nebraska (17-3-1) entered the poll at No. 19.
