Arizona State stays on top of CBI Composite
Poll
Arizona remains No. 2; North Carolina moves up to No. 3
By sitting on top of three of the four national
polls,
Arizona State is No. 1
in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.
The Sun Devils won their five home games this
past week to raise their record to 12-0. They defeated New Mexico twice and
Massachusetts three times. ASU is first in the Collegiate Baseball
poll, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll and the USA
Today/ESPN Coaches poll. The Sun
Devils are fourth in the Baseball America poll.
Fellow Pac-10 member Arizona (10-1) holds the top spot in the
Baseball America poll after also going 5-0 this past week. The Wildcats stay at No. 2 in the CBI Composite Poll
after two wins over UNLV and three shutouts in the Whataburger Classic over
South Alabama, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Notre Dame. UA outscored those
three 37-0. North
Carolina (10-2) went 3-1 to climb one spot to No. 3. South Carolina (8-2)
also went 3-1 to move up to No. 4. Florida State (12-0) enjoyed a 5-0 week to
rise from No. 12 to No. 5.
Baylor (10-1) went 3-1 to climb five
spots to No. 10. Georgia Tech (12-1), California (9-1-1), Stanford (8-4) and
Cal State Fullerton (8-4) all moved into the poll this week.
