Arizona State retains top spot in CBI Composite
Poll
Top five places remain the same; Rice climbs to No. 6
By sitting on top of three of the four national
polls,
Arizona State is No. 1
in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.
The Sun Devils won their four games this
past week in the Coca-Cola Classic to raise their record to 7-0. They defeated
nationally-ranked Michigan twice, and Hawaii and Portland once each. ASU is first in the Collegiate Baseball
poll, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll and the USA
Today/ESPN Coaches poll. The Sun
Devils are fourth in the Baseball America poll.
Fellow Pac-10 member Arizona (5-1) holds the top spot in the
Baseball America poll after sweeping a three-game set against
Sacramento State. The Wildcats stay at No. 2 in the CBI Composite Poll. Ole Miss
(8-0) defeated Northwestern State twice and took three from Indiana State to
remain No. 3. North
Carolina (7-1) rebounded from a loss to Old Dominion to win four at the
Winthrop Coca-Cola Classic, including a pair against St. John's. South Carolina (5-1)
defeated UNC Asheville and took a pair from nationally-ranked Clemson to stay
at No. 5.
Virginia (10-0) won six games this past
week to climb from No. 20 to No. 13. Baylor (7-0) went 3-0 at the Minute Maid
Classic to appear at No. 15.
