In Los Angeles, Mulivai Levu hit two of his team’s five home runs as UCLA completed the three-game Big Ten sweep of USC, extending its win streak to a program-record 23. Dean West went deep in the bottom of the first for the Bruins before Augie Lopez (2 for 3) homered in the top of the second for the Trojans to tie the game. UCLA trailed 3-2 before Levu’s first dinger tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth. Will Gasparino’s two-run shot later in the frame put the home team up 5-3. After USC pulled within one on an error, Levu launched a two-run homer in the sixth to give the Bruins a 7-4 advantage. Roch Cholowsky capped the scoring with a three-run dinger in the eighth for a 10-4 final score. Levu, Cholowsky and Payton Brennan all finished with three hits.
UCF 5, No. 11 West Virginia 1 (box score)
In Morgantown, W.Va., Camden Wicker allowed one run over seven innings as UCF downed WVU to win the Big 12 series. Wicker (3-1) surrendered three hits and three walks while fanning six. Andrew Williamson (2 for 3, 2 R, 2 BB) homered in the first, while James Hankerson, Jr. had a pinch-hit two-run single to cap a four-run sixth for the Knights (10-2, 20-9). Matthew Robaugh had two hits for the Mountaineers (8-4, 21-7).
No. 20 Nebraska 8, Penn State 6 (box score)
In Lincoln, Neb., Drew Grego had a two-run homer and Jeter Worthley added a two-run double in a five-run second as Nebraska completed a three-game Big Ten sweep of PSU. Rhett Stokes went 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs and three RBI for the Cornhuskers (11-1, 26-6). Michael Anderson homered twice and knocked in three for the Nittany Lions (3-9, 8-21).
