Kade Anderson tossed a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as No. 6 LSU edged No. 13 Coastal Carolina 1-0 on Saturday evening in Game 1 of the Championship Series of the 2025 College World Series.
Anderson (12-1) walked five and threw 130 pitches.
Sebastian Alexander and Walker Mitchell drew walks in the top of the first for the Chanticleers (56-12) but both were stranded.
Derek Curiel had a leadoff walk in the bottom of the frame, went to second on a groundout and scored on a base hit by Steven Milam to give the Tigers (52-15) a 1-0 lead.
CCU put their first two batters on base in the top of the third but could not plate the tying run.
Blagen Pado had a leadoff double in the fourth for the Chanticleers, but Anderson fanned the next three hitters to keep the Tigers up 1-0.
Milam went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and one RBI for LSU.
Cameron Flukey (8-2) pitched six innings with four hits, one run, two walks and nine strikeouts for CCU.
